My wife and I ran a content-commerce business on TikTok Shop UK. We sold merchants’ products through our own videos and earned commission. I picked every product and wrote and directed every video.
Results
- ¥10M GMV in a year, with a team of two.
- One of our accounts ranked in the top 1% of creators on TikTok Shop UK in 2025, per TikTok’s year-end report.
- 60M views in the UK in 2025.
- Featured by the startup channel Pitch. One of its top 5 videos ever, with nearly 5,000 likes.
What I did
- Wrote 10,000+ original scripts in a year.
- Before AI: researched products, mined pain points from comments, then wrote and shot every video.
- After AI: built a content agent and a product-selection agent with Claude and Codex.
- 15 scripts went from a full day to a morning. Product selection took half the time.
- The agents matched my hand-written scripts, and sometimes beat them.
What I learned
- Judgment and taste are the scarce part. An agent tuned on 10,000 scripts is nothing like a generic “viral script” prompt.
- Start from the user’s real situation. Read thousands of real comments.
- The first three seconds decide everything. The hook picks the audience, and the audience decides 10K or 1M views.
